Angelica Ross is a prominent figure of achievement and power in the movement for human rights activism focusing on transgender and racial equality, seen in board rooms, movie and television sets, Capitol Hill, and music studios. A fan favorite on the critically acclaimed FX series POSE, as well as the ninth season of Ryan Murphy’s smash hit American Horror Story: 1984 and the tenth season’s double feature as Theta in part two and The Chemist in part one. With her first music video and single, “ONLY YOU,” Angelica also made a comeback to her passion of music. She then went on to release “Purrr,” and fans are enamored with the visual for FIERCE, her club hit featuring singer Mila Jam and the late Ultra Naté. In addition, as Angelica continues to forge ahead, open doors, and set her own table with plenty of chairs, she has revealed that she will soon be publishing an unnamed book and that she will be returning to her original podcast.
Ryan Murphy’s Emmy-winning blockbuster series Pose on FX provided Angelica with her big break in acting. The show chronicles the 1980s and early 1990s Black and Latino LGBTQ+ and gender nonconforming dance culture scene in New York City. TV history is being made with the largest transgender cast of any scripted series! “Angelica Ross steals many of her scenes as ‘Candy,’ the brashest member of the ‘House of Abundance,'” Vanity Fair enthused.
Angelica has acted in theater, television, and cinema since she began her acting studies at Florida Atlantic University. One project was given particular honor at the GLAAD Media Awards: the online series Her Story, which is nominated for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Short Form Comedy or Drama. For her interview part, Angelica and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah were also recognized with a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Talk Show Episode. Additionally, Angelica Ross starred as “Georgia” in the critically acclaimed documentary Framing Agnes, which won the prestigious Next Innovator and Audience Award at the 2022 Sundance Festival. She also had appearances in the television series Transparent (Amazon), Claws (TNT), Doubt (CBS), and Danger & Eggs (Amazon).
Miss Ross is employed behind the scenes as well! In addition to appearing in the short film Missed Connections (2017), which was an official selection at the Outfest LGBTQ Film Festival, the La Femme International Film Festival, and the Baltimore International Black Film Festival, she has executive produced and produced the Daytime Emmy-nominated web series King Ester (2019).
Angelica Ross is the President of Miss Ross, Inc. and the creator of TransTech Social Enterprises, an award-winning initiative that provides technical training, socially impactful digital work, resource sharing, and economic empowerment to marginalized communities, with a focus on Black queer and trans people, to assist people in escaping poverty.
